Boutique consulting firm Synpulse, which has been providing services to the broader reinsurance market for over two decades, has now launched a specific practice focused on what it terms the insurance-linked strategies (ILS) market.
Synpulse aims to provide a more dedicated service to what it sees as a growing sector where reinsurance and capital markets are converging, insurance-linked securities (ILS), so has formally launched the Synpulse ILS practice to achieve this goal.
Commenting on the launch, Patrick Roder an Associate Partner at Synpulse, told us, “Our vision is to help our clients to create state-of-the art ILS platforms, enabling them to focus on their core business.” Roder leads the practice, and has over 10 years of experience in reinsurance and banking industries.
“We partner with clients to help them realize opportunities to launch new endeavors, enhance their operational setups and digitalization efforts, and leverage emerging technologies.
“So that we can address client needs in a market that grows more and more sophisticated, Synpulse is dedicated to providing targeted services to support clients’ ILS platform needs.”
Synpulse believes it is uniquely positioned to serve this market, as it has built up ILS project experience and team expertise in key markets over recent years.
The company says launching the dedicated ILS consulting practice is a “natural transition which builds on top of Synpulse’s 20-plus year experience serving the reinsurance industry.”
Synpulse will utilise the skills of a global team featuring more than 30 ILS and reinsurance experts based in key financial markets around the world, with experience gained through 200 projects with the world’s leading reinsurance and ILS players.
Leveraging its core company competence of providing consulting services from strategy to execution in bridging the gap between business and technology, the ILS practice will offer services along the complete alternative capital reinsurance value chain. It will focus intently on reinsurance operations and the interplay between reinsurance and fund management.
