Swiss Re hires Pasricha to lead P&C Solutions, as Eric Schuh departs

Global reinsurance company Swiss Re has appointed a new hire to the role of Global Head P&C Solutions within its Reinsurance Business Unit, as incumbent Eric Schuh is set to leave the company later this year.

The P&C Solutions division within the reinsurance unit at Swiss Re is a specialist segment focused on the use of advanced technology and data analytics across the risk transfer landscape to bring greater value to clients.

The P&C Solutions mandate is to enable clients to make better underwriting and pricing decisions using data and technology, while also helping in claims management and customer relations or retention.

As a result it’s a unit that helps Swiss Re make its client relationships more sticky, co-creating risk transfer and internal solutions to improve the returns of both its clients and of course its own book as a result.

Eric Schuh has led that segment for more than three years now, but is set to leave Swiss Re for what the company terms “a new exciting challenge” later this year.

Swiss Re announced that it has hired Pranav Pasricha, the current CEO of insurance technology company Intellect SEEC, and appointed him as the new Global Head P&C Solutions.

Pasricha has been CEO of Intellect SEEC for the last six years, leading that firms provision of data, machine learning and cloud-based offerings to commercial P&C and life insurance clients globally.

Before that role, Pasricha led strategy, technology and operations for QBE Insurance across Australia Asia Pacific, helping develop its eBusiness capabilities and its digital transformation of underwriting and claims. Before that he worked in strategy and operations consulting with Booz Allen and A.T. Kearney across high tech, financial services and telecoms.

His experience of working in the insurtech environment over the past seven years will be a big asset as we continue to develop new innovative solutions that meet our clients’ needs,” Jason Richards, Head Casualty Underwriting Reinsurance commented.
