Mt. Logan Re Ltd., the collateralized reinsurance sidecar-like and insurance-linked securities (ILS) vehicle operated by re/insurer Everest Re, has announced two key appointments as it continues to build-out its team.

Mt Logan ReGreg McBride, an experienced Bermuda based reinsurance capital markets professional, has been hired to the newly created position of Global Head of Marketing and Business Development.

Mt. Logan Re has also announced the promotion of Clint Graham to the role of Chief Underwriting Officer, as incumbent to that role David Whiting is retiring from the role.

McBride joins from his most recent role at Markel, where he worked on capital market reinsurance opportunities and insurance-linked securities (ILS) initiatives.

Prior to that, McBride worked at broker JLT Re, on reinsurance and third-party capital related accounts and transactions.

As Global Head of Marketing and Business Development at Mt. Logan Re, McBride will be tasked with expanding its investor base across asset managers, pensions, sovereign wealth funds and endowments globally.

“We are thrilled to welcome Greg and the caliber of experience he brings to Mt. Logan,” explained John Modin, Mt. Logan Re’s President. “With more than two decades of deep industry experience across reinsurance, ILS, and capital markets, Greg’s background and expertise position him well to expand our growing investor base. Greg will be key to increasing our property and catastrophe business and in developing new low correlation investment products to drive sustained growth and profitability.”

David Whiting was a founding member of the launch team of Mt. Logan Re and played an important role in its development as Chief Underwriting Officer, Board Member, and former President.

As he retires from the team, Mt. Logan Re has the strength in depth to be able to promote into the all-important CUO position.

Clint Graham has worked at Mt. Logan Re since 2021 as its Head of Property Underwriting and Analytics.

Prior to joining the firm he worked in a range of underwriting, catastrophe modeling, and broking roles at global reinsurance and ILS asset management organisations, including Willis Re, Arch Re, and Nephila Capital.

Graham takes on the Chief Underwriting Officer role and will be responsible for managing the risk share between Everest’s reinsurance business and Mt. Logan Re investors.

Modin commented, “I am also excited to name Clint Graham as our new Chief Underwriting Officer, subject to government and regulatory approvals. Clint brings a wealth of experience in the property catastrophe reinsurance and capital markets convergence spaces. With strong analytical skills and risk management acumen, I am confident Clint will successfully advance the underwriting discipline and leadership that David Whiting has brought to Mt. Logan since the company’s inception nine years ago. We want to thank David, who is retiring after serving in several leadership roles at Mt. Logan. He has had a long and successful career at the Company, and we wish him all the best in his retirement.”
