Mt. Logan Capital Management hires Liew as Chief Analytics Officer, AUM hits $1.8bn

Mt. Logan Capital Management, Ltd. (MLCM), the Everest Group owned and operated third-party capital management platform, has appointed Sun Siang Liew as Chief Analytics Officer, where he will lead the organisation’s portfolio management and actuarial analytics functions.

At the same time, Everest also confirmed that as of January 1st, 2025, the group’s third-party capital facilitated by Mt. Logan Capital Management, Ltd. (MLCM) had reached $1.8 billion, marking a new company record.

In his new role, Liew will report to John Modin, Chief Executive Officer of MLCM.

Liew joins MLCM from RenaissanceRe (RenRe) where he served as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Analytics, following RenRe’s acquisition of Validus Re.

During his time at Validus Re, Liew was part of the management team for AlphaCat Managers, its third-party capital affiliate, where he led portfolio analytics and played a notable role in investor portfolio construction and product development.

Mt. Logan Capital Management, Ltd. was established as a Bermuda-based insurance manager, licensed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), by Everest Group in July 2024, which at the time the re/insurer said marked the transformation of its existing alternative capital and insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment offering into a multi-vehicle third-party reinsurance capital management platform.
