MS Amlin AG launches agriculture & weather index reinsurance practice

MS Amlin AG, the international reinsurance arm of MS Amlin and part of the Japanese MS&AD group, has announced the launch of a practice with a focus on agriculture and weather index products with the hiring of former PartnerRe exec Rinat Bektleuov.

Bektleuov had worked at reinsurance firm PartnerRe’s Zurich branch since 2001, with a focus on agricultural reinsurance products, including weather index, or parametric, products.

He joined the MS Amlin AG business in August 2021 as Product Group Lead Underwriter for the new agriculture focused reinsurance offering based in Zurich, Switzerland, and reports directly to Charles Goldie, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).

For the last five years he was Head Agriculture, Worldwide for PartnerRe and led the development of the agriculture business lines, managing multiple global teams at the company.

MS Amlin AG now enters the agriculture reinsurance market with his leadership for the initiative and will be offering offering five core products globally: crop insurance, livestock insurance, aquacultural insurance, forestry and weather index products.
