Lockton Re names Bisset CEO North America, Durant Global Vice Chairman

Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of the independent broking group, has announced the promotion of Robert Bisset to the role of CEO, North America, while Nick Durant is set to be made Global Vice Chairman.

The new positions come into effect from February 1st and are designed to support the expanded client and capabilities portfolio at the firm.

Robert (Bob) Bisset joined Lockton Re in 2021 as Chairman, Global Retrocession & Property Specialty, Bermuda and Market Capital, also becoming a member of the Lockton Re Global Executive Committee.

A very well-known face in retrocession in particular, having built and managed large and high-performing teams in that space over his career. He also worked in the Bermuda market and developed a practice specialism in collateralized retro and ILW broking at a time when that market was expanding.

Since joining the firm, Bisset has expanded the businesses under his coverage at Lockton Re.

He will now be tasked with leveraging his market connections across North America and globally to support the next phase of development for Lockton Re in North America.

Durant was part of the group that launched Lockton Re in North America in 2019, joining as CEO, North America, and a member of the Global Executive Committee.

He now steps into the Global Vice Chairman role for the reinsurance broker, to on capital solutions, global account growth, and the developing emerging global market segments.
