Global reinsurance broker Lockton Re, part of the independent Lockton broking group, has made a key hire as it moves forwards with plans to integrate insurance-linked securities (ILS) alongside traditional coverage options within its broking teams.
Zach Breslin is moving to Lockton Re from his current position with Aon Securities, the investment banking, capital markets and insurance-linked securities (ILS) specialist arm of the insurance and reinsurance broking group.
Breslin joined Aon Securities in 2016 and has been a Managing Director in the Investment Banking team, working on a range of capital market activities including insurance-linked securities (ILS) and collateralised reinsurance.
Prior to joining Aon’s capital markets unit, Breslin worked at Berkley Offshore Underwriting Managers as an Assistant Vice President and manager of the Canada branch.
Lockton Re has been continuing to build out its reinsurance and retrocessional broking team, with many high-profile hires over the last couple of years.
Adding new insurance-linked securities (ILS) expertise to this unit seems a sensible next step for Lockton, with the company keen to integrate the full-range of reinsurance and retro risk transfer product within its broking teams’ offering.
Breslin will be tasked with building-out Lockton Re’s ILS capabilities, we understand, which is expected to be fully-integrated within the reinsurance broking teams at the company.
