Lockton Capital Markets adds structuring expertise with Pan hire

Lockton Capital Markets, the unit with an alternative capital and insurance-linked securities focus at the largest independent insurance broker of the same name, has announced the hiring of Richard Pan as Managing Director, an executive with asset management, reinsurance and structuring expertise.

Lockton continues to build out its Capital Markets practice, having recently installed a new CEO for the division in experienced convergence market exec Ken Pierce.

The company has now announced that Pan joins the firm as of June 23rd and will work to support CEO Ken Pierce in growing the structured finance practice, bringing together the insurance and alternative asset management industries to meet important objectives for both sides.

Pan worked in investment management at Waterfall Asset Management most recently, working on structuring, negotiating, and managing investments across various sectors, including insurance and reinsurance, litigation finance, transportation, small business, unsecured consumer lending, and residential and commercial mortgages.

Before that, he was lead counsel for the Asset-Backed Products desk at Société Générale. His career began at law firm Mayer Brown LLP, where he focused on insurance and reinsurance, as well as derivatives transactions.
