Liberty Mutual Insurance has announced the hire of Shaun Sinniah from Miller, who joins as Head of Capital Solutions for Global Risk Solutions (GRS), effective September 28th, 2026.
In his new role, Sinniah will report to GRS President Matthew Moore.
Liberty Mutual Insurance explained that the newly created role will support Global Risk Solutions’ strategy to strengthen connection between its risk and capital capabilities.
As Head of Capital Solutions, GRS, Sinniah will primarily focus on developing new business opportunities and expanding how GRS deploys capital to create value for its customers and partners.
It’s worth highlighting that the use of word Capital in Sinniah’s new role and given his experience, suggests that his responsibilities at the insurer may also have some emphasis on leveraging alternative and insurance-linked securities (ILS) capital for itself and its clients.
Liberty Mutual already has a solid track record in utilising third-party reinsurance and ILS capital sources, including through catastrophe bond sponsorship and reinsurance sidecar arrangements.
Sinniah brings valuable expertise across reinsurance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development.
He joins Liberty Mutual from Miller, the independent and private equity funded broking group, where he most recently served as president of Reinsurance & Capital.
Before he joined Miller, Sinniah served as Head of Placement & Distribution and Chief Operating Officer at reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter’s International & Global Specialties divisions.
Prior to that, Sinniah worked at Willis Re and became Managing Director, Global Head of Sales & Client Management.
Sinniah began his career in the insurance industry after a time working at investment bank Goldman Sachs in London & Hong Kong.
