Korra, the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform from Ledger Investing that is focused on casualty ILS, has announced that it has appointed Yisheng Bu as Chief Actuary, who joins the firm after 13 years of service at Sompo International.
Korra was launched last year by Ledger Investing, an insurance technology (insurtech) and casualty ILS specialist.
The firm connects insurers, managing general agents (MGAs), reinsurers, and institutional investors through an integrated suite of applications and AI-driven workflows that support the full reinsurance lifecycle.
Bu, who is based in New York, will provide actuarial support for transactions in the property and casualty ILS and collateralized reinsurance markets, helping drive the next phase of Korra’s growth and product innovation.
In addition, he brings extensive experience in economic capital modeling, portfolio aggregation and reinsurance strategy across commercial insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage organisations.
As mentioned, Bu joins Korra from Sompo International where he most recently served as Vice President, Risk Analytics.
Before that, he spent nearly three years working in the same role at Torus Insurance, a global specialty insurer that rebranded to StarStone in 2015.
In addition to this, Bu also previously served at broker Aon as an Associate Director. He commenced his career at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he worked as an Actuary for several years.
