Kinesis Capital Management, the third-party capital underwriting operations of specialty insurance and reinsurance firm Lancashire Holdings has hired Saphia Charters as the firms new Controller for Finance and Operations.
Charters joins Kinesis from her most recent role as Vice President with JLT Insurance Management (Bermuda) Ltd, where she worked with a focus on alternative capital, captive and reinsurance companies
Joining Kinesis Capital Management, Charters will be tasked with assisting the continued growth and development of Lancashire’s third party capital platform and overseeing its finance operations in Bermuda.
Charters is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 10 years of financial services experience, gained in the insurance and reinsurance markets.
She brings Kinesis experience with financial planning, Statutory, US GAAP & IFRS statement reporting & administering strong internal control procedures.
In her most recent role at JLT, Charters oversaw the financial servicing of a portfolio of alternative capital companies and served as a director on a number of special purpose insurer and captive reinsurance company boards.
Before her time at JLT in Bermuda, Charters had worked in the UK as a Finance Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis in the Decision Support Team for insurer Liverpool Victoria (LV=), prior to which she worked as Assistant Vice President for Aon Insurance Management (Bermuda) Ltd.
The experience Charters brings will also assist Kinesis in the management and reporting for its Kinesis Re underwriting vehicle, as well as, providing additional resource to support the functioning of the business and the Kinesis investor base as well.
