Jill Beggs promoted to CEO of Reinsurance at Everest

Everest Group, the global insurance and reinsurance specialist, has appointed Jill Beggs to Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Reinsurance, a promotion from her previous role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company’s reinsurance arm.

Beggs was promoted to the Reinsurance COO role in early 2024, less than three years after she rejoined the company from German reinsurer Munich Re, in late 2021 as Senior Vice President and Head of North America Reinsurance.

In an announcement today, Everest has announced her promotion to CEO of Reinsurance, effective immediately.

Since rejoining the company in 2021, Everest states that Beggs’ leadership “has been instrumental” in advancing its global reinsurance strategy, driving significant growth across the division’s North America, International, Global Facultative, Global Specialty, and Mt. Logan Capital Management businesses.

In her previous COO of Reinsurance role at Everest, Beggs took on oversight of the Mt. Logan third-party capital management operation at the firm.

Overall, Beggs brings more than 30 years of risk management experience towards her new role, having spent 20 years at Munich Re working in a variety of roles.

She joined Munich Re after spending the first decade of her underwriting career working at Everest between 1993 and 2002.
