Guy Carpenter, the global reinsurance broking firm, has announced the hire of Connie Tregidga as a Managing Director in its Global Structured Solutions team, with legacy deals and reinsurance sidecars a focus for her new role.

connie-tregidga-guy-carpenterTregidga joins Guy Carpenter in London and the company said she will “lead on legacy deals and sidecar activity, strengthening our capabilities in two areas that continue to grow in strategic importance.”

The reinsurance broker further stated, “With a background that combines legal training and extensive transaction experience, Connie brings additional depth to our structured solutions offering as we support clients through changing market dynamics.”

Tregidga joins Guy Carpenter from legacy, run-off and specialty reinsurance group Compre where she held the role
of Group M&A Director.

She spent almost five years at Compre, during which time the company participated as an investor and also exit solution provider to the QBE Re sponsored $550 million George Street Re casualty reinsurance sidecar deal.

Tregidga worked with the sponsor, co-investors and the Guy Carpenter team on that inaugural casualty sidecar arrangement for QBE Re, which was also Compre’s first participation in such a transaction.

Prior to working at Compre, Tregidga had spent over four years at QBE as its Head of Retrospective Solutions and Group Reinsurance Counsel. Before that she worked at QBE Europe as a Corporate Counsel.

Her expertise in retrospective and legacy solutions, while having worked through a major casualty reinsurance sidecar deal from the perspective of an investor participant and provider of exit solutions capabilities will position Tregidga well to assist Guy Carpenter clients in accessing new and alternative capital sources, in structured formats.
