Reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has made a key appointment who brings new capital markets experience, hiring Efe Tokmen from broker Guy Carpenter as Head of Structured, UK Capital Solutions, Artemis has learned from sources today.
Tokmen, who is based in London, had worked at Guy Carpenter for over six years, having served as Managing Director since 2021, following a previous stint as Senior Vice President.
Now, Tokmen is set to join rival Gallagher Re as Head of Structured, UK Capital Solutions, sources have confirmed to us.
We have also learned that in his new role, Tokmen will specifically concentrate on advancing strategy, promoting innovation, and providing customised capital solutions designed to meet the needs of Gallagher Re’s clients.
His responsibilities will frequently emphasise capital market solutions, including alternative capital from investors.
Before he joined Guy Carpenter, Tokmen spent nearly nine years working at global reinsurer Swiss Re, where he served as Vice President, and developed deep knowledge and expertise within the field of alternative capital and structured transactions.
Tokmen began his career in the industry by working as a summer analyst in the Investment Banking Department at Credit Suisse.
He then later joined insurer Allianz as an Intern within the firm’s Europe/South America Business Division.
