Fergus Re, the Bermuda based collateralized reinsurer that writes business for investors that have an appetite for returns from quality casualty risk underwriting business, has announced the appointment of Stewart Ritchie as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Navin Dadlani, who will assume the role of Chairman of the Board.
This strategic move marks the start of a new chapter for Fergus Re, as the company continues to grow and expands its capabilities.
Operating with a focus on capital-efficient frameworks that provide institutional investors with direct access to insurance assets, Fergus Re is now strategically aligning itself to address the increasing demand for more innovative and sophisticated reinsurance solutions.
A reinsurance veteran, Ritchie brings a deep degree of experience and a proven track record of leadership in the industry, having previously served in CFO and COO roles in Fortitude Re’s Bermuda operations and, prior to that, as CEO of R&Q Re (Bermuda) Ltd.
In his new role as CEO, Ritchie will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, establishing strategic direction, and growing the team and local relationships in Bermuda.
Fergus Re stated that Ritchie’s expertise in executing complex loss portfolio transfers (LPTs) and managing long-tail legacy liabilities makes him an ideal leader for the company’s next phase of expansion.
