Desmond Potter joins GC Securities from Aon Benfield

Desmond Potter has joined Guy Carpenters GC Securities as Managing Director and Head of GC Securities M&A Advisory, EMEA. He joins them after a number of years at Aon Benfield and prior to that the Benfield Group. His most recent role at Aon Benfield saw him leading the insurance-linked securities origination and structuring team in Europe.

His new role see’s him more focused on M&A, Guy Carpenter say he will work with their broker network across Europe, the Middle East and Africa coordinating delivery GC Securities advisory solutions for clients. His role will include responsibility for origination, structuring and execution of mergers and acquisitions, run-off and corporate finance advisory services.

Potter will report to Bill Kennedy, CEO of Global Analytics and Advisory, who said, “Des brings a highly valued mix of risk management, corporate finance and capital markets experience to the leadership team. He will be a major asset and resource for our clients, with his proven ability to provide innovative investment banking solutions to the insurance industry.”
