CAMRADATA Analytical Services have announced the launch of a pension risk transfer product database aimed at U.S. defined benefit plans and sponsors. It aims to provide a transparent view of the insurance options available to allow pension schemes to transfer risks, including pension buy-in and buy-outs.
What’s most interesting is the fact that CAMRADATA are going to allow registered users to directly request quotes for pension buy-ins and pension buy-outs from providers. This could see some brokers and pension consultants cut out of the loop on transactions in the U.S., a market that is expected to grow rapidly for both pension scheme de-risking and longevity risk transfer.
It’s possible that CAMRADATA may seek to add longevity risk transfer and capital markets pension risk transfer instrument support to the database in future.
