Arch Reinsurance Group, the reinsurance underwriting arm of global re/insurer Arch Capital Group, has promoted William Soares to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arch Reinsurance Ltd. in Bermuda, and Jon Schriber to CEO of Arch Reinsurance Company in the U.S., effective immediately.
According to the announcement, both Soares and Schriber will report to Jerome Halgan, who was recently promoted to CEO of Arch’s Global Reinsurance Group.
Soares has been with Arch for 20 years and has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility within Arch Re in Bermuda, including as President of Arch Reinsurance Ltd. since 2025.
Commenting on his promotion, Soares said: “I am honored for the opportunity to lead and work alongside such an exceptional team. Together, we will continue to focus on delivering the insight, responsiveness and underwriting discipline our clients value while pursuing opportunities for sustainable growth.”
Meanwhile, Schriber joined Arch as President of Arch Reinsurance Company in 2023, following a five-year tenure at reinsurer PartnerRe.

Our success is built on the strength of our teams, our underwriting acumen and the relationships we have cultivated over time. I look forward to continuing to build on that strong foundation,” Schriber said
