Arch Re, the global reinsurance arm of Arch Capital group, has hired experienced portfolio manager Christian Roberts from his most recent role at specialist reinsurance investment manager Aeolus Capital Management, to take on a third-party capital focused position at the company.
During his career, Roberts has spent over four years with both insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager’s Securis Investment Partners and Aeolus Capital Management.
He has joined Arch Re this month as a Portfolio Manager, focused on the firm’s growing third-party reinsurance capital business.
Based in Bermuda, Roberts said on Linkedin that he has now joined Arch Re in the new role, commenting, “I look forward to working with the talented team here as we continue to build out the third party capital investment platform.”
His most recent position was at reinsurance and retrocession investment management specialist Aeolus Capital Management in Bermuda, where he had worked since 2019.
Before that, Roberts worked at ILS manager Securis Investment Partners for almost 4 and a half years, as an investment analyst in London and then an assistant portfolio manager.
Roberts began his career as a trainee reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter.
Arch Re has been growing its third-party capital business in recent years, offering investors access to the returns of portfolios of reinsurance risk it has underwritten, while also providing fronting services to those looking to access risk more efficiently as well.
