Aon has promoted long-standing Bermuda based employee Choisel Murray to a senior position as Global Chief Commercial Officer within the Aon Captive & Insurance Management business.
In this role, Murray will have strategic commercial oversight for activities under captives and insurance management, including ILS related structure management, for Aon on a global basis.
As a result, with insurance management activities sitting within this business unit of the global insurance and reinsurance broker, as well as the captive commercial leadership, Murray will also be the global commercial leader on activities across special purpose insurer (SPI), segregated and protected account structures, which are often utilised to facilitate insurance-linked securities (ILS) arrangements, transform risks to transfer them to the capital markets, and can be issuance vehicles for ILS instruments including catastrophe bonds.
An Aon spokesperson said that Murray’s new role will see her become “pivotal in strengthening partnerships across Aon, amplifying our message through a wide range of distribution channels and identifying new opportunities to engage clients and prospects globally.”
While, “As Global CCO of ACIM, Choisel will work closely with regional, hub and domicile leaders to enhance ACIM’s value proposition and support growth across its Captives, White Rock, Commercial and ILS businesses.”
Murray will report to Ciaran Healy, Aon’s Dublin based Global Captives leader.
Prior to taking on this role, Murray has worked for Aon in Bermuda in a variety of increasingly senior roles.
She started with the company as an Assistant Vice President in the Aon Risk Solutions business on the island, before becoming a Vice President, then a Senior Vice President and the Head of Client Origination.
Prior to her recent promotion to Global Chief Commercial Officer, Murray was a Deputy Managing Director in Aon’s Captive & Insurance Management division, also with responsibilities in Commercial Risk Solutions.
