Neuberger Berman Insurance-Linked Strategies (NB ILS; previously known as Cartesian Re) was formed in 2009 and is part of Neuberger Berman’s alternatives platform with more than $153 billion in AUM and commitments (as of March 31 2024).
NB ILS’s risk-focused philosophy uses established third party catastrophe risk models, supplemented by scientific expertise and short-term climate and seismic observations to adjust its portfolio and optimize returns.
Strategy:
NB ILS focuses primarily on privately negotiated contracts and catastrophe bonds, with the objective of providing investors with attractive returns that are not correlated with broader financial markets.
