Catastrophe Equity Put (CatEPut)

An options contract that gives the purchaser the opportunity, but does not oblige them to, exercise the option to acquire equity. Allows the purchaser to raise additional capital by exercising the option in the event of a catastrophe loss event occurring.

Contingent capital transactions that provide financing right at the point of pain, through an injection of capital into the sponsors equity.
