Vesttoo, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused insurtech company, has made another key hire, bringing experienced London and European insurance and reinsurance market exec Anthony Southern onboard as its Director of Insurance Markets UK & Europe.
Southern will have an important role at Vesttoo across the UK and European region.
He’s expected to have a focus on business development, relationships management with carriers, and client retention, as well as working to strengthen the insurtech’s collaboration with the broking community.
His experience will definitely assist, given Southern has a background working at a range of leading insurance and reinsurance underwriting companies in the London market, Dublin, Zurich, Belgium and overseas.
Most recently Southern worked at another insurtech, Instanda, where he spent one year as its Managing Director, EMEA P&C.
Before that, Southern spent almost five years at Arch Reinsurance, working in a range of locations as a Managing Director.
A short stint as Head of Strategy at Advent Underwriting in London came before, prior to which Southern worked for Canopius for over two years as its Head of UK Distribution.
He began his career at Hiscox, spending seven years at the company, in the UK as Head of Direct Products and then in Belgium as Sales and Marketing Director, Europe.
Vesttoo recently announced the completion of a Series C funding round sized at $80 million.
