TransRe, the Alleghany owned reinsurance brand name for Transatlantic Holdings, has promoted long-time senior underwriting leader Andy Taylor to the role of Chief Underwriting Officer for its Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific businesses.
As Chief Underwriting Officer across TransRe’s London, Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific units, Taylor will lead the strategic direction of the firms regional CUO’s.
Taylor joined TransRe in 1999 and worked his way up to hold the role of CUO of TransRe London Limited for the past three years, a role that he will retails and in which he will report to Louise Rose, CEO of TransRe London.
He joined the reinsurance company as a property treaty manager, working in the London market.
He has held increasingly senior underwriting roles at TransRe, including as TransRe’s CUO for the Asia Pacific region prior to taking on his most recent role as CUO for London.
TransRe said that Taylor’s experience, knowledge and relationships positions him as the right person for the new role.
The role will see him with as the strategic lead for TransRe’s regional underwriting operations, supporting and overseeing reinsurance operations to ensure the consistency of underwriting processes and decisions across the TransRe office network.
In the new oversight position, Taylor will report to Paul Bonny, President of TransRe Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
TransRe said the promotion supports recent appointments of regional CUO’s, moves that were reported at the time by our sister publication Reinsurance News.
