Fermat UCITS Cat Bond Fund

Fermat Capital Management recently hit new milestones for two of its dedicated catastrophe bond fund strategies, taking the pair to more than $3 billion of assets under management each, while achieving those levels of assets at a particularly rapid pace, Artemis can report.

Fermat Capital Management has shuttered the long-standing GAM FCM Cat Bond Fund, an offshore strategy it took over as part of its recent separation with asset manager GAM, with substantially all of the investors having now moved to its newer offshore Fermat Cat Bond Fund, Artemis can report.

Fermat Capital Management, the specialist catastrophe bond and insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager, has benefited from meaningful and consistent inflows to its UCITS catastrophe bond fund strategy this year, growing the funds AUM by 182% to reach almost $2.12 billion as of this week.

The GAM Investments operated Star Cat Bond Fund UCITS strategy saw its catastrophe bond assets under management rise at the latest reporting of net asset values, halting a decline that began after ending its long relationship with the fund’s previous portfolio manager, Fermat Capital Management.

The GAM Star Cat Bond Fund strategy has experienced a meaningful outflow of investor capital we understand, with the UCITS fund’s assets under management declining by approximately 25%, or around US $650 million, just in the month of April 2025.

Fermat Capital Management, one of the largest specialist investment managers of catastrophe bonds and insurance-linked securities (ILS) assets, launched a new UCITS cat bond fund strategy earlier this year in February, which we’ve learned has already grown above $530 million in assets.
