Wade Gulbransen, Head of North American Operations at TigerRisk, announced O’Neill’s hire, saying, “Brian is one of the industry’s foremost experts on property-casualty reinsurance in Florida. His highly specialized knowledge and years of experience will be a tremendous asset to TigerRisk and our clients.”

O’Neill will be based in Tampa, Florida for TigerRisk.

He commented on his appointment, “I am excited about becoming a member of the TigerRisk team. I love the entrepreneurial culture and focus on the client. I am extremely impressed with the depth of talent and analytics capabilities.”

O’Neill was most recently Managing Director and Head of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter’s office in Tampa, Florida.

His career began at Guy Carpenter in reinsurance claims and transitioned to P&C broking, spending 17 years at the firm.

O’Neill then moved to work at brokerage JLT Re, where he was the Head of the Natural Catastrophe Practice and then came back to Guy Carpenter through the MMC acquisition of JLT.

Commenting on his focus for the new role at TigerRisk, O’Neill said, “Helping clients build and retain profitable books of business is particularly difficult given the legal environment, fraud issues, reinsurance costs, competition, etc.

“TigerRisk’s commitment to client advocacy was a deciding factor in my joining the organization.”
