Nayms hires Nick Zagoreos as Head of Capital Markets

Nayms, a regulated Bermuda based marketplace for crypto insurance, has added a key hire with insurance-linked securities (ILS) capital raising experienced, appointing Nick Zagoreos as its Head of Capital Markets.

Zagoreos will be known to many of our readers for points in his career when he has been focused on reinsurance, alternative capital and ILS capital raising.

He has a distinguished career in capital markets at names including Lazard, Man Groups’ alternative investments specialist GLG Partners, and with his own capital raising and advisory firm Korthi Capital LLC.

Zagoreos may be best known by many in the industry for his stint at hedge fund strategy reinsurer Third Point Re, who he joined in 2013 to help build out capital raising and investor relations for its third-party reinsurance capital strategy at the time.

Insurtech Nayms recently became the world’s first crypto-native insurance marketplace to be fully regulated in Bermuda, as our sister publication reported at the time.

Nayms wants to help open up the capital markets to digital asset risk, to source risk capacity for the burgeoning crypto space which is in need of additional insurance and also reinsurance capital.

Nayms said that Zagoreos, “brings in a wealth of experience in hedge funds, ILS and most recently a breadth of capital raising for new initiatives through his advisory firm, Korthi Capital.”

He will be responsible for supporting Nayms insurance partners with their capital raising efforts to expand their on-chain balance-sheets, as well as scaling the available capacity on Nayms for new programs.

Zagoreos will be working with crypto-venture firms, hedge funds and family offices, as Nayms introduces insurance as a regulated asset class to the cryptocurrency market.
