ERS ILS Ltd., the dedicated insurance-linked securities (ILS) management division of specialty insurance and reinsurance player ERS, is set to benefit from climate-finance prediction modeling and risk transfer analytics services provided by AbsoluteClimo and AKR Zell.
ERS Administration Services Ltd., which is a unit of ERS domiciled in Bermuda, has signed-up to leverage climate and actuarial risk expertise and consultancy from the two companies, which will benefit its re/insurer aligned investment strategy managed by ERS ILS Ltd.
ERS ILS launched earlier this year, with former Securis executive Neil Strong taking the lead role as CEO ILS, Fergus Reynolds, also formerly of Securis, joining as CUO ILS, and Twelve Capital founding partner Sandro Kriesch providing additional support to the initiative.
AbsoluteClimo and AKR Zell announced a strategic partnership earlier this year as well, with the goal of delivering climate-driven risk services to the insurance, reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) sectors.
With a focus on managing climate-risk and providing ESG aligned investment opportunities, ERS ILS will now benefit from new views of risk, designed to fill climate-related gaps left by some of the established industry modelling tools.
ERS ILS Ltd. will benefit from insights provided by AbsoluteClimo’s global climate physics and financial forecast models, combined with AKR Zell’s actuarial expertise and risk transfer experience.
