David Flandro joins JLT Towers Re as as Global Head Strategic Advisory

David Flandro, a well-known figure in the convergence and third-party capital area of reinsurance due to his analysis and commentary on the space, has left Guy Carpenter to join reinsurance broker JLT Towers Re as Global Head of Strategic Advisory.

Flandro was Global Head of Business Intelligence at Guy Carpenter where he headed up efforts in corporate strategy, international rating advisory, market entry, capital structure, credit risk advisory and other issues. In his time at Guy Carpenter Flandro became known for leading research work to understand the impact of third-party capital and the capital markets on reinsurance as the sectors converged.

Ed Hochberg, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Analytics, Banking, and Advisory at JLT Towers Re, commented on the appointment; “This new and important role at JLT Towers Re will focus on our new business strategy, ERM and strategic/financial consulting. Flandro, who before his time at Guy Carpenter was part of the Benfield Research team, will be based in JLT Towers Re’s New York office and is expected to start mid- year.
