BMS hires Bruce Murdock to its Capital Advisory unit

BMS Capital Advisory, Inc., the broker-dealer, investment banking, ILS and capital markets arm of insurance and reinsurance brokerage BMS, has announced a new senior hire as it continues to build out this area of its practice.

Bruce Murdock, most recently an employee of Lockton Capital Markets, is joining BMS Capital Advisory as Managing Director, effective immediately and will report to Romulo Braga, CEO at BMS Capital Advisory.

Murdock has more than 30 years’ experience across investment banking, insurance, reinsurance and other areas of the financial services industry.

At Lockton Capital Markets, Murdock worked most recently as Managing Director and Head of InsurTech.

Previously, he has held positions at Sheumack & Co., IRC Securities and Macquarie Capital (USA), and also worked as a Managing Director at Fox-Pitt Kelton Inc. Group (now Swiss Re Group), where he led a number of high-profile portfolios for banks, insurers, hedge fund reinsurers and mortgage finance companies.

His career began in insurance and reinsurance, working at XL Group in 1990 as a US Underwriter.
