For our third Artemis Live audio and video interview I had the pleasure of discussing the state of the market with Paul Schultz, CEO of Aon Securities, the capital markets, investment banking and insurance-linked securities (ILS) structuring arm of the insurance and reinsurance broker.
All of our Artemis Live video interviews can be accessed directly from our YouTube Channel and we have more interesting discussions with leaders of the ILS and reinsurance industry to come over the next few weeks.
Paul Schultz, CEO of Aon Securities, joined us to discuss the state of the catastrophe bond market, broader insurance-linked securities (ILS) market trends, and the impacts of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic across insurance, reinsurance and risk transfer markets.
He explained that the ILS industry has previously shown resilience in time of crisis and this time is no different.
“Both from a cedent perspective and from an investor perspective, I think everyone is being constructive in a period of great dislocation and uncertainty,” Schultz explained.
He highlighted the fact that even in this time of dislocation, the primary and secondary catastrophe bond markets have continued to function in an orderly manner that is supportive of the motivations of sponsors as well as ILS funds and investors.
The full video interview is embedded below, but can also be viewed in full, along with previous Artemis Live video interviews, over on our YouTube channel.
We will continue to bring you these interviews with leaders of the ILS and reinsurance industry on an ad-hoc basis, as and when our time and that of our contacts allow. All of our Artemis Live video interviews can be accessed directly from our YouTube Channel.
But we’d love to hear from you if you have an interesting viewpoint to bring to us and we’re also offering sponsorship opportunities for our broadcasts, one-off webinars and virtual events including roundtables, all with a focus on reinsurance, ILS and the efficiency of risk transfer. Please get in touch to discuss.
