Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has promoted Jenise Klein, to the role of North America Regional Head of Property, replacing Jill Knecht who is departing the firm after 17 years.
Klein most recently worked as an insurance-linked markets specialist in AGCS’ Capital Solutions unit, the team focused on the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market, transferring insurance risk to capital markets investors and funds.
Klein has worked at Allianz since 2015, first joining the AGCS Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) team in New York, as Head of Underwriting Governance and Coordination.
Klein then transitioned to a focus on the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market within the ART Capital Solutions team in 2018.
The Capital Solutions unit of AGCS’ ART division specialises in structuring insurance and reinsurance risks into a form acceptable to capital market investors.
As part of the Capital Solutions team, Klein was heavily focused on Corporate Property accounts, managing a large corporate property program and structuring reinsurance for both Capital Solutions and North America Property portfolios.
Klein then moved across to the North America Property team earlier this year, taking on the role of Senior Underwriting Product Head, tasked with leading a growth initiative priority for this line of business.
“Jenise is a seasoned leader who is well respected by colleagues, clients and peers and brings a breadth of results-driven insurance and reinsurance experience to her new role,” stated Bill Scaldaferri, President and CEO, AGCS North America. “I’d like to thank Jill for her contributions to AGCS over the past 17 years and look forward to working with Jenise to continue our expanded growth strategy in the North American market with our clients and brokers as our central focus.”
Before joining AGCS, Klein worked at Zurich Insurance Company for almost nine years in progressively more senior roles, including as an Underwriter for both the Primary Casualty business and the Strategic Risk Solutions Group.
