PartnerRe Ltd. is a leading global reinsurance company that underwrites risks on a worldwide basis across three segments: P&C, Specialty, and Life and Health.
PartnerRe has been managing third-party capital for investors in vehicles such as collateralised reinsurance sidecars on a quota share basis for a number of years.
The company formalised its third-party capital activities with the addition of a CEO for the unit in 2020.
The reinsurer has more recently broadened its third-party capital activities to include direct partnerships with large institutional investors, while building out an infrastructure to support that and broader co-mingled ILS investment opportunities.
PartnerRe has a significant investment into its third-party capital vehicles from former owner EXOR, which took over the investments from new owner Covéa on completion of its acquisition of PartnerRe.
