Overview:
Nephila Capital was launched in 1998 and became the first investment manager with a specific focus on catastrophe reinsurance and weather risk.
The company has been the largest insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager in the market through most of its life, based on assets under management.
Nephila Capital was founded by Frank Majors and Greg Hagood, but in November 2018 Markel Corporation, the global specialty insurer and investment company, acquired 100% of the equity of Nephila Holdings Ltd.
