Arch Reinsurance Ltd., founded in 2001, has been managing third party capital since 2006, starting with the $1.2 Billion Flatiron facility, the largest “sidecar” to-date, and in 2013 formed Arch Underwriters Ltd. (AUL) as a separate third-party reinsurance capital management arm of its underwriting business.
AUL manages the reinsurance underwriting and related functions for $1.1 billion Watford Re.
Arch also currently manages an additional $600m in third-party capital deployed in private reinsurance facilities (as of June 2017).
