Mayer Brown’s Insurance-Linked Securities & Convergence team has represented sponsors, arrangers, initial purchasers, and investors on numerous offerings of catastrophe bonds, extreme mortality bonds, and other insurance-linked securities over the past decade. In the past five years alone, Mayer Brown has completed more than 100 ILS offerings, more than any other law firm. Among these offerings, more than 30 were for first-time sponsors.

The firm’s work has included advising on: the first-ever catastrophe bond transaction to cover third-party liability wildfire risk; the first Asian reinsurance sidecar; ILS transactions under the new UK ILS regime; and the first cat bond to be sponsored by a US federal agency which was also the first to solely cover flood risks.
