Pangaea Reinsurance IX Ltd. sidecar details

In June 2014 TransRe, the reinsurer arm of Alleghany Corporation owned insurance and reinsurance group Transatlantic Holdings, issued Pangaea Reinsurance IX Ltd. Again, and in line with other reinsurance sidecar registrations under the Pangaea naming convention, TransRe failed to provide information on the capitalisation of the issuance.

In May 2012, approximately two years before the Pangaea Reinsurance IX Ltd. issuance, TransRe launched its fully-collateralized reinsurance sidecar, Pangaea Reinsurance IV Ltd., again choosing not to disclose the vehicles size.

The Pangaea Reinsurance IV Ltd. sidecar vehicle was TransRe’s fourth Pangaea sidecar issuance, after Pangaea Reinsurance I Ltd. in 2010, and Pangaea Reinsurance II and III in 2011.

In January 2015 TransRe issued Pangaea Reinsurance Ltd., a fully-collateralized reinsurance sidecar.
