Twelve Capital and Eos Venture Partners launch insurtech fund strategy

Twelve Capital Management, the Zurich-headquartered catastrophe bond, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance linked investment fund manager, is expanding its strategies to include insurtech investments with the help of a new collaboration with specialist insurtech investor Eos Venture Partners.

The pair will launch a specialised insurtech investment fund focused on providing growth funding for successful insurtech’s.

The fund will have an exclusive focus on insurtech and adjacent opportunities, capitalising on Twelve Capital’s insurance network and Eos’ InsurTech expertise.

The investment strategy will focus on later stage growth capital (primarily Series C and beyond) for fast growing insurtech companies where Eos already has a strong relationship through its early stage investments, or that are otherwise known to Eos.

Twelve Capital is not the first insurance and reinsurance investment manager to broaden its strategy to include insurtech, as the expertise gained in analysing insurance-linked securities (ILS) and private debt financing deals for the sector means its understanding of market opportunities are significant.

Teaming with Eos, a recognised specialist investor in insurtech that has largely been an early-stage funder, is an ideal way to gain an inside track on potentially profitable investment opportunities.
