Tony Maximchuk joins Twelve Capital UK as non-exec director

Twelve Capital, the Zurich headquartered catastrophe bond, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance linked investment fund manager, has appointed well-known ILS exec Tony Maximchuk as a Non-Executive Director for its Twelve Capital (UK) Limited operation.

Tony Maximchuk was most recently employed by London-headquartered ILS and reinsurance linked asset manager Securis Investment Partners but retired from the role in 2019.

Maximchuk spent nine years at Securis helping to build the ILS fund managers business out. Prior to that he spent a decade at investment specialist Conning Asset Management and before that spent some time at Credit Lyonnais Securities.

Since departing Securis, Maximchuk has been advising financial services and investment companies in a non-executive capacity.

Maximchuk brings extensive experience to Twelve Capital from his previous business development focused roles within both insurance-linked securities (ILS) and fixed income asset management.

Tony Maximchuk commented on his appointment, “Since Urs Ramseier co-founded Twelve Capital ten years ago, he and his team have built a suite of institutional quality investment strategies, particularly in offering investors exposure to Catastrophe Bonds, Private Non-Life ILS and Private Debt issued by insurance companies. With those offerings, Twelve Capital have successfully built a large client base – to date, mainly in continental Europe but already have a well-established office and team in London.

This year ILS have again demonstrated the low level of correlation to other asset classes they are noted for and, while the recent years of catastrophe losses have created losses and trapping of collateral in some parts of the market, it would appear clear that investors should be looking at an opportunity where perhaps this time, re/insurance premium increases may be longer lasting.”
