TigerRisk Partners, LLC, the reinsurance brokerage, risk and capital advisory, has hired and appointed Manoj Gupta, previously of Third Point Re, to be the brokers Chief Operating Officer.
Gupta had worked at Third Point Re for a number of years, having originally led the development and management of a catastrophe reinsurance fund for the hedge fund backed reinsurer, among other roles.
Gupta, who held roles at Third Point Re ranging from Head of Business Development to Executive Vice President, Underwriting, went on to become President of Third Point Reinsurance Ltd.’s US subsidiary.
He now joins TigerRisk and will be based in the brokers New York office.

Gupta previously held the role of portfolio manager for catastrophe reinsurance at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he launched a number of stand-alone catastrophe risk investment funds and placed reinsurance risk within the asset maanger’s multi-strategy hedge funds. Before that, Gupta led reinsurance broker Benfield’s alternative capacity and credit risk solutions initiatives. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
