TigerRisk adds Conway to Bermuda reinsurance & retro team

TigerRisk Partners LLC, the global risk, capital and reinsurance brokerage and advisory, has announced the hiring of Bermuda-based Chris Conway, who joins the firm’s reinsurance and retrocession broking team on the island.

Conway is well-known on the reinsurance and retrocession space, having most recently worked at Neon in Bermuda and with a career working at reinsurance companies on the island.

In his new position at TigerRisk, Conway will report to Alex Bridges, Partner and Head of Retrocession.

The role Conway is filling is newly created at the broker, strategically positioned to operate across both TigerRisk’s Reinsurance and Retro Teams, the company explained.

“Chris is an exciting hire for us in a market that’s full of opportunity,” Bridges said. “His broad background, technical expertise and extensive knowledge of the market will be a great asset to our clients, both on the reinsurance and retro sides of the business.”

Conway was most recently a Senior Vice President at Neon Underwriting in Bermuda, where he helped in the generation of a start-up reinsurance portfolio of property catastrophe, per risk and retrocession business for the firm.

Conway began his reinsurance sector career working at AXIS Re as a Senior Modeling Analyst, subsequently being promoted to Assistant Vice President, Underwriting.

He then worked at total-return specialist reinsurer Third Point Re as an Underwriter and Head of Risk Analytics, after which he held senior underwriting roles at reinsurance investment focused AQR Re and also at Ascot Underwriting Bermuda.
