Strategic Risk Solutions adds Pereira in Bermuda for ILS push

Strategic Risk Solutions, Inc., a provider of insurance, reinsurance and captive management and consulting services, has made another key hire as it pursues insurance-linked securities (ILS) business, appointing Anna Pereira as Senior Vice President, Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS).

Pereira will take up the role at Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) from March 1st 2021 and will be based in Bermuda, reporting to Managing Director Jonathan Reiss.

The role will see Pereira responsible for supporting SRS’s ongoing expansion into the insurance-linked securities (ILS) and fund administration sectors.

Pereira’s hire comes soon after Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) hired Matthew Charleson in Bermuda to lead its ILS expansion and then more recently added Peter Child, formerly of Artex, to launch and manage a Guernsey office for the firm.

Pereira has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance, reinsurance, alternative risk transfer and capital markets in Bermuda, with a significant ILS focus.

She has specialised in ILS and collateralized reinsurance for transformer entities and fronting carriers over the last six years and is currently a Director and co-founder of MANA Consulting Ltd.

Pereira was previously the Head of Treasury for ILS facilitator and manager Horseshoe Group. Before which she was Head of Captive and Insurance Banking at HSBC Bank Bermuda Ltd., helping to develop and lead the bank’s ILS initiative and record growth in Bermuda and the US.

Pereira has also held a range of underwriting positions with Chubb Financial Solutions, Quanta Re, and Everest Re in Bermuda, with experience across financial guarantee, financial lines and casualty insurance or reinsurance underwriting.

In addition, Pereira leads marketing and overseas promotion for ILS Bermuda Ltd. and has served on ILS Bermuda’s Steering Committee since its inception.
