Stone Ridge Asset Management adds three hires from leading banks

New York based Stone Ridge Asset Management, a provider of mutual fund investments across a variety of beta focused alternative risk exposures including reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS), has hired three senior execs from leading banks recently.

According to a report from CNBC, Stone Ridge has hired Paul Germain, formerly global head of prime brokerage at Credit Suisse, Tomer Seifan, formerly head of institutional solutions at BNP Paribas in New York and Guillaume Auvray, formerly at Morgan Stanley where he focused on systematic trading and derivatives products.

None of the three hires are especially reinsurance focused, in terms of previous experience, but they will no doubt add significant experience to the asset manager and assist in the growth of the reinsurance and ILS focused strategies as well as Stone Ridge’s overall capital under management.

Stone Ridge passed $3 billion under management across its three reinsurance and ILS focused mutual investment funds recently. The firm manages one of the largest portfolios of ILS assets in the industry and has had significant success in raising capital since its launch. The addition of three senior hires will no doubt help Stone Ridge continue its growth trajectory. Stone Ridge also manages other alternative risk exposure strategy funds.
