Securis adds Ascot founder Martin Reith as Advisory Director

London-based insurance-linked securities and reinsurance-linked investments manager Securis Investment Partners has announced the appointment of Martin Reith, founder and CEO of Ascot Underwriting, to a newly created role of Advisory Director.

Reith has more than 25 years’ experience across underwriting, management and leadership functions of insurance and reinsurance businesses. He was the Founder and CEO of Lloyd’s focused insurer Ascot Underwriting Limited which was instrumental in launching in 2001 with the support and backing of AIG. Under Reith’s leadership, Ascot became among the largest and highest performing insurance businesses in the Lloyd’s market, as well as having a network of overseas offices.

In the wide-ranging role of Advisory Director, Reith will provide help and advice to Securis in terms of business planning and strategic development, hold various board positions within the Securis group including at recently formed Securis ILS Management, Bermuda, provide oversight of internal procedures and risk management, assist with introductions to cedants, brokers and investors, and work on various special projects for the ILS specialist.
