SCOR Investment Partners, the asset management company of the global reinsurance group SCOR, experienced further inflows to its insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund strategies through 2021, to end the year with record assets of above US $3 billion.
SCOR Investment Partners’ (SCOR IP) ILS assets under management had reached $2.9 billion as of August 2021, Sidney Rostan, Head of ILS at the company explained to us in an interview last November.
The investment manager has had continued success, lifting its ILS assets under management again towards the end of the year.
In particular, throughout 2021, SCOR IP experienced strong inflows into its two flagship ILS funds, Atropos and Atropos Catbond.
These two ILS fund strategies were launched in 2011 and 2013 respectively, so have long and well-established track-records now.
The Atropos ILS fund saw its assets under management grow by 27% in 2021, to reach US $1.4 billion.
Meanwhile, the catastrophe bond focused Atropos Catbond fund grew even faster, adding 92% in assets across the last year, to reach US $831 million at year-end 2021.
Under the leadership of Sidney Rostan, SCOR IP’s ILS investment management team operates in Paris and London, managing and advising funds domiciled in Luxembourg and in Jersey.
A range of risk-return and liquidity profiles are on offer, from pure catastrophe bond fund strategies to funds incorporating private ILS and collateralised reinsurance, while the asset manager also designs tailored solutions for institutional investor clients, to address their specific needs.
