Marc Beckers joins TigerRisk as Head of EMEA

Marc Beckers, most recently Head of reinsurance broker Aon Benfield’s ReSolutions team in the EMEA region has been hired by risk capital advisory and reinsurance broker TigerRisk Partners as a Partner and Head of EMEA to lead its charge into Europe.

Beckers has actuarial, investment banking, reinsurance and capital advisory expertise, having worked to help reinsurers better utilise, manage and allocate their capital in previous roles. He will be tasked with leading TigerRisk’s operations in Europe.

The combination of his actuarial background, his investment banking expertise, his life insurance and life reinsurance background, and his experience of running EMEA analytics at Aon Benfield, makes him an invaluable resource as we continue to build the leading risk, capital and strategic advisor to our industry.”

Beckers is regarded as having particular expertise in non-traditional risk-transfer structures and life reinsurance, and is also experienced in investment banking for mergers and acquisitions and financing.

Beckers will work closely with colleagues in the Capital Markets & Advisory division at TigerRisk, with his expertise in identifying non-traditional and investment banking solutions likely to help the company as it expands its capital agnostic reinsurance broking and advisory strategies further into Europe.

He will work out of TigerRisk’s London office and will report to TigerRisk President Tony Ursano, and will also have a dotted reporting line to Hugo Crawley, head of TigerRisk’s London operation.

Beckers is expected to be an employee of both TigerRisk Partners (UK) Limited as well as TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory (UK) Limited, pending necessary approvals.

Beckers had been at reinsurance broker Aon Benfield from 2007, first in the Aon Benfield Securities team in London leading Analytics for EMEA, and most recently as Head of Aon Benfield ReSolutions EMEA and as an MD in the Securities team.

Beckers worked closely with traditional reinsurance broking and capital markets units, helping to create a deploy capital solutions for reinsurers across Europe.

Prior to his time at Aon, Beckers was an actuary at ING working in health and disability insurance. Prior to which he was at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney as a director and actuary working on mergers and acquisitions advice for the insurance and asset management industries.
