Lockton Capital Markets names ex-Lehman Re exec Ghosh as President

Lockton Capital Markets, the unit with an alternative reinsurance capital and insurance-linked securities (ILS) focus at the largest independent insurance broker of the same name, has announced the appointment of Pradip Ghosh as President, effective immediately.

Ghosh was a member of the team that created Lehman Re, a Bermuda-based subsidiary and reinsurance company owned by investment bank Lehman Brothers, that worked on transactions in the reinsurance convergence and ILS space.

Ghosh has more than 20 years experience across insurance, financial services and asset management industries.

As President, Lockton Capital Markets (LCM), Ghosh will be tasked with working closely with CEO Ken Pierce, providing direction and oversight as LCM’s platform build-out continued. Prior to taking this role, Ghosh served as a Senior Advisor at LCM.

Ghosh’s career has seen him in a diverse set of roles focused on the convergence between the alternative asset management industry and life & annuity insurance as well as property & casualty insurance.

He worked as a Managing Director at Ares Management, where his focus was on the origination, execution and monitoring of the managers principal investments in the insurance space.

He has also worked at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers, originating, structuring and executing both public and private capital markets transactions with insurance or reinsurance companies, commercial banks and pension funds. Hs career began as a member of the team that created Lehman Re.
