Jason Carne retires from KPMG Bermuda Insurance practice

Yesterday, KPMG in Bermuda announced the retirement of Jason Carne, Partner and Managing Director in the Insurance practice, as well as the promotions of a number of executives to the leadership team.

Jason Carne joined KPMG in 1992 and has been a Managing Director and Partner within KPMG’s Insurance practice for 18 years. Most recently Carne led KPMG’s Insurance Linked Securities team, where much of his time was spent on the convergence of reinsurance and capital markets.

Carne has been a leading players in the Bermuda ILS community, taking an active interest in the development of Bermuda as a hub for catastrophe bonds and ILS business and supporting its continued growth in this space.

Carne served on the committee and also stood as a co-chair of ILS Bermuda, the cross-industry group that runs the Convergence networking conference on the island and helps to promote Bermuda as a center of ILS expertise.

In the same announcement KPMG in Bermuda announced a number of promotions to its leadership team.

Eric Heinrichs, a Partner specialising in insurance and reinsurance, and Bill Miller, an actuarial, loss reserving, insurance and reinsurance specialist, have both been promoted to Managing Director. Adam Smith, Himad Zafar, and David Harper have all been promoted to Director.

Both bring a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and expertise and their commitment to delivering quality service is apparent in the strength of their client relationships. In addition, Bill is the first Actuary to be promoted to the role of Managing Director in our Firm’s history.
