ILS investment manager Twelve Capital reshuffles and adds board members

Twelve Capital, a Swiss based investment manager who operate a number of funds and opportunities in insurance-linked securities, catastrophe bonds, private ILS, reinsurance-linked contracts and subordinated insurance bonds, have announced a number of changes in their management team and board today. With the changes Twelve Capital aim to continue pursuing growth as they move into 2013.

The changes include a new Managing Partner. Dr. Urs Ramseier will step aside from his position as Managing Partner but will remain as Chairman of the Board of Twelve Capital. In his place, Christoph Bürer, Partner and a co-founder of the firm, is to become the new Managing Partner.

Urs Ramseier will continue to play a strategic role at Twelve Capital, continuing his official activities as well as playing a part in portfolio management and setting strategy for the firm. Christoph Bürer will take over operational management of the firm in his new position as Managing Partner.

Two new independent industry experts have been named to the Board of Twelve Capital. Dr. Frank Schnewlin, Vice Chairman of the Board of Swiss Life Holding AG and Vice Chairman of the Board of Vontobel Holding AG, and Dr. Andreas Casutt, Attorney and Managing Partner of Niederer Kraft & Frey, a Zurich-based legal practice both take seats on the Board as of the 1st January.

Chairman Urs Ramseier commented on the changes and new board positions; “We are very pleased to welcome Frank Schnewlin and Andreas Casutt to our ranks. Both bring with them profound knowledge of the insurance business and the capital markets in general, as well as in the handling of complex international transactions. Thus there is no question that they will be an enrichment to our circle of financial experts. I also take pleasure in passing the torch of operative management of Twelve Capital to our co-founding Partner, Christoph Bürer.”

Twelve Capital are setting themselves up for further growth in 2013. Just over a month ago they added two new senior portfolio and operational hires to their team.
