Hudson Structured Capital Management (HSCM), the reinsurance, insurtech, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and transportation focused investment manager, has promoted three of its senior staff to become new Partners in the firm.

hudson-structured-capital-management-logoIt takes the partnership at Hudson Structured to ten strong, as the investment manager continues to build out its business across its core insurance or reinsurance linked and transportation asset classes.

The new Partners come from the Corporate and Transportation areas of the Hudson Structured business, notably for our readership including the firm’s Head of Investor Relations and also its Chief Compliance Officer.

They are: Matthew Berdoff, Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising; Wendy Wong-Tsang, Chief Compliance Officer; and Jason Braunstein, Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Transport.

Berdoff has developed and led HSCM’s investor relations and business development efforts since its launch in 2016, making a significant contribution to the now over $3.3 billion of capital commitments and assets under management the firm commands.

Braunstein led HSCM’s transportation investment strategy alongside Partner David Andrews and has led the firm’s maritime investment strategy and team since joining the firm in 2017.

Wong-Tsang joined HSCM in 2020 and serves as Chief Compliance Officer. She has developed the firm’s compliance policies, protocols and team, and has extensive experience in buy-side compliance, regulatory and reporting matters.

In addition, HSCM announced that it has promoted Andrew Sagon from Vice President to Managing Director. Sagon has worked on some of the firm’s largest re/insurance and insurtech investments in his time at the company.

Brandon Baron and Charlotte Kerr have also both been promoted from Associate to Vice President.

Baron is part of HSCM’s insurtech-focused HSCM Ventures strategy, among other responsibilities. Kerr has served as Assistant Controller since 2019 and helped to develop the firm’s portfolio management functions.

Catherine Zhu has also been promoted from Analyst to Associate. She is a member of the Transport investment team, having been with the firm since 2018.

“We are delighted to add to our partner group this year with three outstanding citizens of HSCM,” Michael Millette, Managing Partner of Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd. explained. “Talent is our lifeblood, and we are proud of the development of talent within the firm that these promotions reflect.”

As we recently explained, Hudson Structured Capital Management has increased its reinsurance focused assets under management by roughly 15% over the first-half of 2021, to reach a new milestone at $3 billion, while its firm-wide assets including the transportation investment strategy reached more than $3.3 billion.
